Wellington's Monument is located close by the village of Baslow, Derbyshire.
The monument was built in 1866 by Dr. Lieutenant Colonel E. M. Wrench, on Balsow Edge, to commemorate a visit by the Duke of Wellington to the moor. Dr. Wrench thought it would balance out the nearby Nelson's Monument on Birchen Edge.
