The Asylum is an annual Steampunk festival located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

Steampunk began as a joke, it arrived from a form of science fiction called Cyberpunk. Various writers began setting their stories in a pseudo Victorian world which the term Steampunk was jokingly applied. Although the name stuck it is constantly being debated what Steampunk is.

Weekend at the Asylum, as it is formally known, is thought to be the largest and longest running Steampunk Festival in the World. Since 2009, the festival has been held each year in Lincoln and currently stretches over multiple venues in the historic cathedral quarter of Lincoln, Lincoln Castle and Bishop Grosseteste University. It is run as a not-for-profit event organised by the Victorian Steampunk Society.

It combines features, classes, craft workshops and entertainment, such as the Empire Ball, Majors Review also known as The Major's Soiree and the International Tea Duelling final along with live music, comedy acts and the largest Steampunk market in the world referred to as the Bazaar Eclectica.
