Robin Hood Plantations are small woodlands on Eastmoor, the edge of the Chatsworth Estate, located near the hamlet Robin Hood, Baslow, Derbyshire.
They were first named on an OS map of the area published in 1922. They are included, but not named, on earlier OS maps of the area, the earliest dating from 1883.
Robin Hood is a small group of houses, a hamlet, in the parish of Baslow. It is a small community, well known for its Inn and car park, both popular for climbers and walkers exploring the area.
The Eastmoors and the surrounding area, was inhabited during the Bronze Age, with various settlements and earthworks. but the weather deteriorated forcing them off the higher ground. The fields changed to heath and moorland and remained uninhabited for centuries.
