Burbage Rocks is located near Surprise View near Hathersage, Derbyshire. It is a gritstone ridge.
The Rocks are part of the Peak District and overlook a historic neolithic landscape. The area has been used as a training ground for solders and bullet holes can be seen in some of the rocks.
Extensive quarrying took place in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Grinding and crushing stones were also made on site and have helped shape Burbage Rocks.
Today the area is used by tourists and is under the control of the National Trust.
