Heraklion Prefecture

Heraklion Prefecture is the central region of Crete, Greece. It was the center of the Minoan civilization and contians a number of palaces, tombs and sacred sites.

Crete history is infused with myths, such as the Labarinth of Minos, the Minotaur and the Gods of Greece.
