St. Michael le Belfrey is an Anglican church in Petergate, next to the Minster in York, England. It is the largest parish church in the city. It would have originally been used by wealthy merchants and craftsmen.

St Michaels was built in saxon times, although the exact date is unknown. Saxon burials were discovered in Petergate close to the church. From around 1294 the church was controlled by the Minsters Dean and Chapter for at least two hundred years. The church was rebuilt around 1537, following the Dissolution of the Monasteries, when King Henry VIII became Supreme Head of the Church in England. The York Minsters master mason, John Forman, rebuilt it in the Tudor Gothic style. A lot of the original glass survives, the east window dates from around 1330. The building is rectangular, with a nave and two aisles. The nave has a clerestory and a false front. Slender pillars, decorated with angels and Henrys crown separate the aisles from the nave. The church has a bell tower, a replica of the earlier tower built in 1848. Houses attached to the church were pulled down in 1867 and the west front was rebuilt.
