The Festival of History is held at Kelmash Hall, Northamptonshire. It is an annual summer event held by English Heritage and is its flagship event.
The first festival was held in 2003 at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire and again in 2004. From then on it was held at Kelmarsh Hall. Events include historical re-enactments involving several thousand people in all, aerial displays, demonstrations, specialist talks, story-telling, theatre and hands-on events for children.
The 2011 event was held on the 16th and 17th of July at Kelmarsh Hall. Displays included Anglo-saxon re-enactment as well as a display of soldiers through the ages, mediaeval jousting and a World War I trench. Events also included a battle from World War ii with pyrotechnics and a dogfight between a Spitfire and Messerschmitt.
